The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences has nominated the excellant Bioshock for a massive 12 awards in its 11th Interactive Achievement Awards. The awards it has been nominated for are:

Outstanding Innovation in Gaming, Outstanding Achievement in Art Direction, Character Performance, Story Development, Original Music Composition, Soundtrack, Sound Design, Game Design, Innovation, Action Game of the Year, Computer Game of the Year, Console game of the year and Overall Game of the Year.

The awards will be made at the D.I.C.E summit in Las Vega on February 7th.

I’ll be honest…Bioshock is well worthy of being nominated in those categories, whether it wins any of them is another story, but I see no problems with it being nominated for them.

While Bioshock may have fallen apart after the big reveal in my mind, it was still an amazing game so 2K Games get my hearty congratulations for these nominations.
