Programming Quality Falling?
Jon Hare, the man behind the Sensible Soccer games and the Sensible Software range has recently claimed that the standards of programming have fallen since the Americanization of the gaming industry. The interview posted on CVG reveals his thoughts on what is happening today in the industry.
“Something that is not often talked about is just how Americanised the industry became when the big media companies came in,” he said.
“The American approach is seen as good business, but in a lot of cases the American side of things just don’t understand our humour.
“Even if you look at Grand Theft Auto which is probably the most successful British developed product in recent times it’s still very Americanised,” explained Hare.
A very interesting read and makes me yearn for some great British developers get some good exposure and spread their wears.
