I think it is time for my ‘Portfolio’ to be made public here, it may not be much, but it is something.

I am a keen gamer and I love to write about games. I personally would love to get a job with a gaming magazine or website, whether that is going to happen is something for the future.

My writing life started off with a little known Command and Conquer fansite, cncnation.net which I set up following the announcement of Command and Conquer 3. This gave me my first taste of gaming ‘journalism’ as it were. In my time running the site I have held a few interviews, one with the Community Manager for the Command and Conquer community and two with the Tiberian Dawn mod for C&C3. I have posted a lot, hell of a lot of news on the site, but not much in the way of extended articles. I have sadly come to the recent decision to close down the site at the end of my hosting contract. My time is better suited in other endeavours where I can get my work out to a wider audience. Also my recent apathy towards the Command and Conquer games has played the biggest factor in my decision to close the site.

I write for the leading Half-Life 2 fansite, halflife2.net as a News Poster and Content Writer. There I have been a lead figure in keeping the site up to date with news. In my time with the site I have also been given the chance to write some extended pieces. I have produced articles where I have talked at length about Steam, posted several reviews of games that have appeared on Steam, notably Call of Duty 4 and The Orange Box. I have also provided articles on specific features of games such as brief overviews of the maps in Day of Defeat Source.

My time at University has led me to further pursue my interest in games writing via the University Newspaper. This is where the large proportion of my game reviews have originally been published. Reviews of games such as Call of Duty 4 and The Orange Box were originally published in the University Paper.

More recently I have taken on a position at 411 Mania in the Games section. I am the resident PC writer. I post PC and Industry news on the site as well as my weekly column ‘The PC Centric Extravaganza.’ In this column I cover all the latest PC and Industry news and provide my thoughts on what has occurred in the past week. I have also had a review published on the site for Viva Pinata and I also have the option to do more work where needed for the site.

My most recent work has been for the UK game retailer, GAME. I have previewed Dawn of War: Soulstorm for the GAME website and I may write more for the site in the future.
