Expanded CoD4 Training Level

Monday, September 8th, 2008

Now that is how the training of Call of Duty 4 should’ve been, while not much more than what we actually received in the game, that just seems twice as good. I loved the training zone of the game and I would’ve loved to have seen more of the area, if it had been done like this it would’ve been much better. That is what a Japanese modder named Qrysalis was able to find hidden away in the game files. Located on the blog of Robert Bowling from Infiinity Ward.

Call of Duty 4 Patched

Monday, June 9th, 2008

I know this is a few days late, but the latest patch for Call of Duty 4 has been released for the PC. The Steam version of the game has also been updated. Following on from news last week that nVidea was Sponsoring a new map pack for the PC version, the new maps have been included in the patch. Creek, Chinatown, Broadcast, and Killhouse are the new multiplayer maps, and due to being Sponsored by nVidea they are all free, this is unlike the Xbox 360 version of CoD4 which required players to purchase the map pack.

In other patch news there are two new multiplayer server browser filters which now allow the filtering of Hardcore and Oldschool game types. Back when CoD4 first came out I was a big fan of Hardcore, however it was often difficult to find a game without the correct filters. For this to have been changed is something I welcome whole heartedly.

Call of Duty 4 – PC DLC Free!

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

June 5th sees Call of Duty 4 get some free downloadable content, we will see four new maps drop into the PC version, these were the four maps the Xbox 360 gamers had to pay for. Along with the new maps Patch 1.6 will also be coming out on June 5th.

Infinity Ward Community Manager Robert Bowling has confirmed that the map pack is being ’sponsored by nVidea’ and that the graphics card manufacturers have more things planned for us PC gamers.

Is this a sign that nVidea, members of the PC Gaming Alliance are taking the PCGA seriously and helping promote PC gaming? I hope so.
