C&C – First Decade Patched Again

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008

Command and Conquer: The First Decade was an epic box set of all the Command and Conquer games that were released before Tiberium Wars. It was magnificent for having all those classic games on one disc, however there were issues with it, even after two official patches.

Thus I was shocked when I saw this on C&C.com which revealed that an Unofficial 1.03 Patch has been made by the C&C community.

If you want to play any of those classic games with most of the bugs fixed then it is well worth checking out. Great stuff for the C&C Community to be doing this kind of thing.

Kane’s Wrath Gold

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

GameSpot is reporting that Kane’s Wrath had gone gold! The upcoming expansion to C&C3 is due to land on March 26th for the PC and in the summer for the 360. Intriguingly the game will also come with a beta key for Red Alert 3.

Why do I mention Kane’s Wrath going gold? Well because I want to get my grubby hands on it and give it a right old reviewing!

Cyber Kane!

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

Wahoo! Kane! Feck yeah!

*disengages hype chip*

Kane’s Wrath, landing later this month with a lovely Red Alert 3 beta opportunity. Story seems a bit better than that of C&C3, gameplay seems to be a bit improved with all the new units and sub-factions. Should be reviewing this when I get my hands on it!

Looking Back – Comand and Conquer: Red Alert 2

Friday, February 8th, 2008

I have just reinstalled C&C: The First Decade and played some Red Alert 2 and remembered what a great game it is. I take a ‘Look Back’ at the game and give my thoughts on why it was so damn good!

Tiberium Trailer

Friday, January 18th, 2008

The debut trailer for the upcoming Command and Conquer squad based FPS ‘Tiberium’ has been released and can be seen below.

Thanks GameTrailers!

Now while I shouldn’t really be too critical what with owning cncnation.net and all, but this doesn’t do anything for me. While it may end up being a very solid FPS, since C&C3 was released I have lost my need and desire for C&C games, and to take the franchise to the FPS arena is just a bad move. We shall wait and see, but I am most definately holding back my ‘hype-o-meter’ for this.

C&C Modding and other C&C news

Tuesday, January 8th, 2008

The past few days have seen a large number of updates and new things for the Command and Conquer community, the following is what I had to say on it from cncnation.net

- CnC3 Pro has been updated to version 4 bringing with it a new install interface, new gameplay tweaks and much more!

- CnC All Stars has also been updated and is now on version 1.2 featuring a nice list of gameplay changes.

- Project Perfect Mod has undergone a very sexy transformation inspired by C&C3

- CnCNZ has just had another mega roundtable discussion, well worth a look!

Finally check out the CnC Communications Centre for all the tools to play your favourite classic C&C games!

I must say it is very good to see continued support from the C&C Community for the older games, they are classics and people do still play them. Thumbs up to the C&C Community as a whole.
