This new Pre-E3 trailer for Dawn of War 2 does something great, and something just average. The great thing is the combat it shows off, vicious and brutal this game is looking damn good. The average thing? The revelation of the new race to go alongside the Space Marines and Orks (or Orcs…I’m not sure which!) is distinctly average. We want Tyranids damn it!
According to Jim Rossignol in the newest issue of PC Gamer UK ‘Relic feel like the beating heart’ of the PC and judging from his mega-preview of Dawn of War 2, Relic are just that. While Jim was unable to break down the mental defenses of the Relic staff and find out what races other than Space Marines and Orks are due to appear, he was able to gain a magnificent insight into the game itself.
Boy does it sound fantastic and wow it bloody well looks gorgeous! Dawn of War 2 surely is going to be the best looking RTS when it is released. If these screens are anything to go by then it really will be, the look fantastic! And that is just from minuscule magazine pics!
I must say it is annoying when everyone knows something is going to be announced, but due to NDAs and company policies nobody can confirm anything until a certain date. This happened with Red Alert 3 when I knew it was going to be announced…but nobody was able to reveal anything until it was officially announced!
This time something similar has happened, in the latest issue of PC Gamer UK, at the back it gives us a glimpse of what to expect in the next issue, release April 10th.

Ominous reference to a new ‘Dawn’ and a silhouette of a strikingly Dawn of War type unit. With Soulstorm, expansion to the original Dawn of War having just been released then I think we can safely assume Dawn of War 2 is due to be announced.
