Golden Goo

The ever amazing 2D Boy have confirmed that World of Goo has gone gold. The retail version will hit the US around the first week of November, the DRM free version will be available on the website a bit sooner than that.

I previewed this game way back in February and so I am now eagerly awaiting the final version of the game to play the shit out of. C’mon!

Games for Windows Live - Now Free

According to this recent 1up report Games for Windows Live Gold is now totally and utterly free. That means that for all those games that have utilised the Games for Windows Live in the past (The Club, Shadowgrounds anyone?) and future Games for Windows Live games (Dawn of War II) will incorporate the full Games for Windows Live Gold service for free.

So multiplayer achievements, matchmaking, Games for Windows voice chat and even cross-platform gaming are now all free! There are also plans for a Games for Windows Marketplace which will match the Xbox version with demos and downloadable content amongst the other crap available.

Golden GRID Burns Rubber!

In some exciting Race Driver: GRID news the Executive Producer has confirmed that it has gone gold. So we can expect GRID to land on the 30th of May. It is also confirmed that GRID has had the Games for Windows label stuck on it.

The following trailer shows off some sexy looking cars burning rubber on the Japanese tracks. Also of note in the trailer is a new song, ‘Phat Planet’ by Leftfield replaces the usual Queens of the Stoneage remix.
