A 2009 Prototype

Monday, May 5th, 2008

Prototype, the free-ish roaming super mutant shooter from Radical Entertainment and Sierra has been pushed back to a 2009 release according to GameSpot.

An representative told GameSpot;

“Since its announcement, Prototype has been regarded by many as groundbreaking and taking the open-world genre in new directions, and in the simplest explanation possible, we need more time to deliver the game the team initially set out to create,”

Which either means that someone was not happy with the game and wants a total overhaul, or that the developers have managed to get some more time from Sierra to further develop and polish the Prototype.

Lets hope the Prototype makes it into full production.

Prototype - Focus on Blackwatch video

Cheeers GameTrailers!

That above video has just blown my socks off…not literally but figuratively. Prototype has now jumped out of nowhere PC Gamer UK games to watch to be a game that I am now watching out for.

From what I have read and that video told me, you play a character, Alex in an open world environment. You have been infected with some type of virus and must survive in this world while you have these mysterious ‘Blackwatch’ hunting your ass. I am sure that over time we will get more details, but the sheer class of that video impressed me. They used some really cool shots when interviewing members of the dev team and the gameplay footage and artwork was pretty impressive if I may say so myself.

One thing, Blackwatch = Combine ripoffs?
